Centinela Valley district superintendent gives himself pay cut

California's highest paid school superintendent has agreed to some pay cuts but his critics say it's too little, too late.

Jose Fernandez told a packed auditorium of the Centinela Valley High School District last night (tue) he had heard the public and was forgoing some of his compensation this year.  Jay Ghoul walked up with a wad of cash in his hand.

"Does he care about the Children? Absolutely not," Ghould said.

"That is the last thing in his mind is the children. The only thing that he cares about is this. Money! That is it."

Gould threw the money at Fernandez as some students rushed up on stage to grab the cash.  The meeting ended with the school board again promising to negotiate a lower pay package for Fernandez.
